ICC Champions Trophy 2025: Pakistan as a nation is going through their worst times in cricket. A team to reckon with in the 90's is facing embarrassment from left, right and centre. Following Pakistan's shock exit from the Champions Trophy 2025, where they were the hosts, they have been facing the heat. Days after Pakistan's exit from the marquee ICC event, former Pakistan captain Inzamam-ul-Haq has made a strange request. Inzamam has made a strange request to all boards asking them not to send their cricketers for the Indian Premier League. Claiming that India does not send it's players to play other leagues, he urged all foreign boards to stop sending players for IPL

‘Other boards should stop sending their players to IPL’ - Inzamam

"Keep aside the Champions Trophy. Top players participate in IPL but Indian players don't participate in other leagues. Other boards should stop sending their players to IPL. If you (BCCI) don't release your players for leagues, then other boards should take a stance," he said speaking on a Pakistani TV channel.

Pakistan at CT 2025

The Men in Green became the first team to get eliminated from the tournament. It has come as a massive embarrassment for the nation as they were the defending champions and the hosts. Pakistan first lost to New Zealand and then went onto get thrashed by India in Dubai. Finally, Pakistan, who would have thought of signing the tournament off with a win over Bangladesh , that too did not happen. The match between Pakistan and Bangladesh was called off due to rain.

IPL 2025 Coming up

The cash-rich 18th edition of the IPL is set to bowl-over cricket enthusiasts from March 22 to May 25, 2025. This season features 10 teams competing across 74 matches in 13 venues throughout India. Defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders would lock horns with Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the season opener at the iconic Eden Gardens in Kolkata on March 22, 2025.
