Champions Trophy 2025: The Pakistan Cricket Board has made some strict negotiations to cater to their need for funds as they host an ICC event in the region. The cricket board has halted one of their practices of allocating complimentary passes to watch an international cricket event, which has been a regular practice in the past. The PCB often kept a certain amount of passes reserved to present to VIPs, sponsors, government officials and other stakeholders. But for the Champions Trophy, they suspended the practice to enhance the ticketing revenue.
PCB Enforces Ban On Complimentary Passes For ICC Champions Trophy 2025
The PCB put a restriction on distributing free passes in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. Apart from a few passes presented to Chairman Mohsin Naqvi to present to the sponsors and his guests, no other allocation has been made for free tickets. The move is being seen as a desperate bid to generate cash for their treasury.
"The PCB officials are facing a lot of pressure as those used to getting free passes are asking them for the freebies, but are being told that since the International Cricket Council controls the ticketing of the tournament there are no free passes.
"It becomes very difficult explaining this to the government departments involved in the many logistical aspects of the organisation of matches and the VVIPs who expect free passes. This time, all the people you see in the enclosures in the stadium are paying customers no freebies," A source privy to the ticketing process for the Champions Trophy said, as quoted by PTI.
