Cricket Meets Glamour: A Look At IPL 2025 Opening Ceremony Schedule

Indian Premier League: Kolkata Knight Riders will lock horns against Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the opening fixture of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 at the Eden Gardens on March 22. In IPL 2024, Shreyas Iyer led the Knight Riders to a title win by beating Sunrisers Hyderabad in the Final by eight wickets. However, this season Iyer has left KKR and Ajinkya Rahane will lead the Knights. 

Royal Challengers Bengaluru ended their campaign in IPL 2024 in the play-off after a disappointing defeat against Rajasthan Royals by eight wickets. This season former captain Faf du Plessis left the franchise and Rajat Patidar will lead the Royal Challengers.

The IPL 2025 opening ceremony is expected to be grand as top celebrities like Karan Aujla, Shreya Ghosal, and Disha Patani will take the stage to entertain the cricket fans.

Actress Disha Patani to light up the stage with a dynamic performance.

Lastly, singer Karan Aujla will take the stage.

6:53 PM IST: BCCI and IPL officials to take the stage along with the celebrities.

6:54 PM IST: KKR and RCB skippers will take on the stage and greet the officials and celebrities..

6:59 PM IST: There will also be a cake-cutting ceremony and drone show at the Eden Gardens.

7:00 PM IST: Fireworks take the sky of the 'City of Joy'.

7:30 PM IST: IPL 2025 kicks off.

Excited to be coming up against Virat Kohli: Varun Chakaravarthy

On the eve of the IPL 2025 opener, KKR mystery spinner Varun Chakaravarthy said that he is ‘excited’ to play against Virat Kohli and perform against him.

"Definitely excited to be coming up against Virat. Obviously, he's batted well against me, and I would like to do well against him also," Varun said at the pre-match press conference.
