How did it Start?
All the mess and the confusion started because initially Gaikwad had ruled himself out of the Duleep Trophy due to the same groin injury and now he is back. The BCCI has earlier announced about his injury that he had picked up during the Buchi Babu tournament and that is why Sanju Samson was named as his replacement in the India D squad.
Even when the revised list of squads were out as players had to leave for national duty, Kishan's name was not there. And hence it was surprising when Kishan's name appeared in the playing XI of India C against India B.
Ruturaj Gaikwad INJURY
India C captain Ruturaj Gaikwad 's knock lasted merely two balls before he picked up an injury and had to retire hurt. Being the premier batter of the side, the onus was on him to get his side off to a good start. But he was unfortunate on Thursday as he had to leave the ground after twisting his ankle during their match against India B. There is no official update of the game, but social media reports suggest that Ruturaj hit the first ball for a boundary to get off-the-mark and off the very next ball he twisted his ankle. He left the ground grimacing in pain. No much is known about the nature of the injury, but going by reactions on social space, the injury should not be too concerning and he should be fit to bat in the second essay.
