'End of the year didn’t go as planned': Shubman Gill reflects on his handwritten 2023 aspirations

Shubman Gill, a Team India cricketer, recently reflected on his life and the milestones he secured in 2023 in an Instagram post.

Shubman Gill has had quite a whirlwind-like year in 2023 and was a solid emerging talent throughout the calendar year. Be it the IPL or the ODI World Cup, Gill stood up like a star for the Indian Cricket Team. While the last couple of months did not go that well, the Indian Cricket Team had quite a ride in 2023, and the young cricket prodigy opened up on his goals and aspirations that he had in mind for the preceding year.

Shubman Gill shares handwritten note with his 2023 aspirations, opens up on his year

As the year 2023 came to an end, Shubman Gill reflected on the time he spent in the year and the aims and aspirations he set up for the calendar year. He started the year on a high note with back-to-back stellar performances in international and franchise cricket. The end of the year did not go as planned, as he suffered from dengue in the initial phase of the ODI World Cup. Gill shared a photo dump to share his moments from the year on Instagram and wrote:

"Exactly a year ago, I put it out into the universe.  With 2023 coming to an end, the year has been full of experiences, some great fun and other great learnings.

The end of the year didn’t go as planned, but I can proudly say we came ever so close to our goals, giving everything we had. The coming year brings its own challenges and opportunities. Hopefully, we’ll get closer to our goals in 2024. I hope all of you find love, joy, and strength in everything you do."

Shubman Gill is yet to make a proper comeback from the ODI World Cup heartbreak and could not perform well in the T20I series against Australia. But Gill has big roles to fill as he will lead the Gujarat Titans as a captain this year after Hardik Pandya's trade to the Mumbai Indians. It is yet to sso how Gill performs this year.
