Gautam Gambhir was left fuming after Yashasvi Jaiswal threw away a solid start in the second innings of the ongoing first Test against New Zealand in Bengaluru. Jaiswal, who had scored 35 runs and was looking good, was dismissed by Ajaz Patel in a soft manner.

Ajaz Patel, who had been bowling a tight spell, outfoxed Yashasvi Jaiswal with a well-disguised delivery, inviting him to go for a lofted shot. Jaiswal, attempting a big shot down the ground, was beaten comprehensively and was stumped by Tom Blundell.

Gautam Gambhir angry as Yashasvi Jaiswal throws away his start

India head coach Gautam Gambhir , who was watching from the dressing room balcony, was visibly angry with Yashasvi Jaiswal's reckless shot selection. Jaiswal's dismissal was a crucial moment in the match, as India were looking to build a strong partnership to chase down New Zealand's mammoth first-innings total of 402 runs.

After Jaiswal's dismissal, India captain Rohit Sharma got out despite playing a defensive shot. India's hopes of making a comeback in the match were dented before Virat Kohli and Sarfaraz Khan forged a much-needed partnership of more than 100 runs.

India will be hoping that their other batters can step up and make a contribution to the team's cause. With Kohli and Sarfaraz still at the crease, India will be looking to build a strong partnership and make a comeback in the match.
