How Can India BEAT Australia in Champions Trophy 2025 Semis? Ravi Shastri Gives Blueprint to Rohit Sharma, Gautam Gambhir

ICC Champions Trophy 2025: The Indian cricket team has been having a dream run in the ongoing marquee ICC event. Rohit Sharma 's men have made it three-out-of-three to ensure they finish on top of Group A. Now, the Indian team take on the mighty Australian on Tuesday in Dubai. While India would start favourites given their form, Australia can never be taken lightly in ICC events and Rohit's and his men would know all of it. 

The loss at the 2023 ODI World Cup is still fresh for a number of Indian players who would eye revenge. India would know they have a golden opportunity to knock Australia out of the tournament. But, the question is, how do they do it? Would there be changes in the playing XI from the side that beat New Zealand?

Ahead of the much-important semi-final, former India cricketer Ravi Shastri had a piece of advise for the team. As per Shastri, India should not tinker with their playing XI for the game against Australia. 

‘Would go with the same XI’ 

"I would go with the same XI because the turnaround is less than 48 hours. The square is a little tired at the moment and people would have run on the pitch that will be used the day after. So the spinners will again come into play".

Shastri also reckons a score of 240-250 would be very challenging in the semi-final and can be defended. 

"So if you bat first, put anything over 240-250, it's going to be very competitive in a big game like a semi-final," said Shastri at the end of the match.

India Beat New Zealand

India beat New Zealand by 44 runs to top the group. It was Varun Chakravarthy who came up with the goods playing his first match of CT 2025. The mystery spinner picked up five wickets to rattle NZ.
