‘Hum Acche Log Hai’: Ex-PAK Star Makes a Devout Plea to Team India for Visiting Pakistan for CT 2025

A lot of concern has been hovering over Team India's participation in the upcoming Champions Trophy. Pakistan will be the host of the upcoming edition of CT, but given the tensions between the two countries, Team India has not travelled to Pakistan and hasn't engaged in any bilaterals since 2013, and they have only faced in the ICC and ACC tournaments since then. Given that Pakistan will host the Champions Trophy, India needs to travel there to participate. But there is a lot of flux over the situation. Amid the tension, a former Pakistan cricketer has offered his take on the scenario.

Former Pakistan Cricketer Requests Team India to Keep Politics Aside and Visit the Country for Champions Trophy 2025

Former Pakistan Cricket Team skipper Shoaib Malik has put forward a plea to the Indian Cricket Team as he requests them to visit their country for the upcoming Champions Trophy. Malik assures them that they are good and hospitable people and urges keeping the politics out of the sport. He added that Pakistan travelled to India despite the tensions and wants them to return the favour by visiting their place.

"Whatever reservations there are between the countries, that's a separate issue and should be solved separately. Politics shouldn't come into sports. The Pakistan team went to India last year, and now it's a good opportunity for the Indian team too.

"I think there are many players in the Indian team who haven't played in Pakistan, so it would be great for them. Hum bahut acche log hai [we are good people]. We're very hospitable people, so I'm sure the Indian team should definitely come," Malik told Cricket Pakistan.

Reports have circulated that the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is not interested in sending Team India to Pakistan for the 2025 Champions Trophy and has requested the ICC to consider a hybrid format. However, the PCB has been robust over the situation as they would not tolerate any hybrid model. They have also put the onus on the ICC to ensure that the Men in Blue travel to Pakistan.
