ICC CT 2025: Not for the first time, but Pakistan have at times been guilty of using unfair means to win a match and India-Pakistan in Dubai on Sunday was no different. Pakistan opener Imam-ul-Haq took a low-catch of Shreyas Iyer and claimed it, the umpire raised his finger and the Indian batter made the long walk back. By then, India were already nearing a historic win. Iyer left the field after scoring 56 off 67 balls. After a few minutes when the replays were shown, it was seen that the catch was not clear. Former India cricketer Sunil Gavaskar, who was on-air at that point of time, pointed it as well.
‘Ball touched the ground’
“Ball touched the ground. If u touch it on boundary it six, so how can be this out. Shreyas Iyer should have waited and asked for review. This is not out," Gavaskar said.
IND vs PAK Champions Trophy 2025 Clash: As It Happened
Pakistan tried to gain an early advantage by deciding to bat first against India in Dubai. Pakistan played to India's strengths and their decision to bat first backfired on all levels. Pakistan's stalwarts Babar Azam and Mohamamad Rizwan failed to step up and deliver yet again. It was Shaud Shakeel's 62 off 76 balls which helped Pakistan register a total of 241 runs.

India's chase looked relatively easy and it was expected to happen. Rohit Sharma came out all guns blazing and left Pakistan's Haris Rauf, Naseem Shah and Shaheen Afridi begging for answers. The Indian vice-captain Shubman Gill anchored the innings and helped India cruise through. But it was a Virat Kohli special which sealed the game in India's favour.

With the win, India is almost through to the semi-final, while Pakistan is all but knocked out.
