ICC Champions Trophy 2025: Former Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan, who is in jail currently, has broken his silence on the country's shock exit from ICC Champions Trophy 2025. Imran's sister Aleema Khan revealed that her brother is extremely disappointed with the Champions Trophy result. For the unversed, Pakistan, who are the host nation, became the first team to be eliminated from the semi-final race after losing to New Zealand by 60 runs and then against India by six wickets. With still a game to be played, Pakistan stand no chance of making it through. "The PTI (Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf) founder expressed great sadness over losing the match against India," Aleema told the media outside Adiala Jail Rawalpindi after meeting Imran.
Aleema also said that Imran questioned the Pakistan Cricket Board chief Mohsin Naqvi over the decision-making. Imran also reckoned cricket in Pakistan would be destroyed like this.
‘Cricket will be eventually destroyed’
"Imran said cricket will be eventually destroyed when favourites are put in decision-making positions," said Aleema.

‘The nation is justifiably angry’ - Sethi Blames Imran
“The nation is justifiably angry. The cricket fraternity says Pakistan has hit rock bottom. How come a cricket team that was once no 1 in T20s (2018) and Tests (2016) and ODIs (1990 and 1996), which won the WC in 1992 and CT in 2017, is today equated with Zimbabwe?” Sethi tweeted.
Meanwhile, India and New Zealand are through to the semi-final from Group A. Both teams have played two and won two. Now, India and New Zealand would lock horns with each other in a dead-rubber.
