Sanjay Bangar contemplates why India have been unable to win a Test series in South Africa

Ahead of the start of the 1st Test, ex-India batting coach Sanjay Bangar has paid heed to the supposed final frontier for Team India, and in the process reflected on the past to figure out why a Test series win in the rainbow nation has always eluded the team.

Since 1992, teams with different outlooks and leadership have toured South Africa but none have been able to take the unassailable lead in the series. The only side that has been able to evade a series defeat in SA has been MS Dhoni's 2010/11 side. Rohit Sharma has the chance to deliver the unprecedented and for that, his team will get only two matches. Which according to Bangar has been one of the reasons behind the hoodoo.

"India have not won test series in South Africa because they play 2 Tests or 3-match Test series. If they get to play four or 5-match Test series, it would reflect in their performance," said Sanjay Bangar on Star Sports.
