The focus of India's Twenty20 International captaincy contest has been on Suryakumar Yadav, who guided the squad to a 4-1 series win against Australia. He is a former Indian Premier League captain playing for Mumbai Indians and the Kolkata Knight Riders. His outstanding skill set is reinforced by his ICC position as the top Twenty20 International batter. When compared, Hardik Pandya's record as a skipper in T20Is is 65.62 and in the IPL it is 57.77. Gambhir may consider their records before making a decision. 

The BCCI is likely to announce its squad for the India vs Sri Lanka series today.
