Earlier in the year, BCCI Vice President Rajiv Shukla opened up on Team India's participation in the contest in Pakistan . He stressed the need for the green flag from the Government of India to send the Men in Blue to Pakistan.

"In the case of the Champion Trophy, we will do whatever the Government of India will tell us to do. We send our team only when the Government of India gives us permission. So we will go according to the decision of the Indian government," The BCCI VP said to ANI.

Given the tensions between both sides, India has avoided any travel to Pakistan since 2012. The only time the two sides collide is in the ICC and ACC tournaments. In 2023, Pakistan was obliged to use the Hybrid model and host a few sets of games in Sri Lanka despite having the hosting rights for the Asia Cup .

Amid the tense situation, it's yet to be seen whether the BCCI will receive the green signal to send Team India for the 2025 Champions Trophy
