'This Really Means A Lot': Indian Batter Shreyas Iyer Wins Hearts With Special Gesture Towards Net Bowler Jaskiran Singh

Ahead of the India vs New Zealand match, Shreyas Iyer is winning hearts for his gesture towards a net bowler.

The Indian Cricket contingent is currently in Dubai for the ongoing ICC Champions Trophy 2025. India are all set to face off against New Zealand in their last group stage match against New Zealand after securing commanding wins against Bangladesh and Pakistan. India and New Zealand have already secured their places in the semi-finals for the Champions Trophy ahead of their match. Now, ahead of the India vs New Zealand match, batter Shreyas Iyer is winning hearts for his gesture towards a net bowler during a practice session in Dubai. 

Shreyas Iyer Wins Hearts With Special Gesture Towards Net Bowler

Indian batter Shreyas Iyer is once again winning hearts for his special gesture towards net bowler Jaskiran Singh. Shreyas Iyer during a training session walked upto Jaskiran Singh who was fielding and gifted him a pair of cricket spikes. According to Jaskiran, Shreyas Iyer walked upto him and said, "Paaji kya haal-chaal, sab badiya? (Brother how are you? Everything fine?" 

Shreyas Iyer followed this up by asking Jaskiran Singh what his shoe size was to which the net bowler replied ‘10’. Shreyas Iyer then gifted him a pair of cricketing spikes.

Jaskiran Singh who was overjoyed with this act said, ‘It really means a lot,' when talking to PTI Videos. 

Who Is Net Bowler Jaskiran Singh Who Was Gifted Spikes By Shreyas Iyer?

Jaskiran Singh is a chartered accountant by profession and an avid cricket fan, thus he was selected for the ICC Champions Trophy as one of the ICC net bowlers. During the campaign he got to bowl to Pakistan and Bangladesh's batters but only got to field to the Indian team because they already had a lot of off-spinners.

"In this tournament, I've fielded for them (India) but was waiting for an opportunity to bowl to them. I've bowled to Pakistan and Bangladesh; that was a really good experience. And then this, coming from Shreyas Bhai means a lot," said Jaskiran Singh. 

India are all set to face off against New Zealand on 2nd March in Dubai.
