Kolkata Knight Riders are all set to lock horns with Rajasthan Royals in the sixth match of the ongoing Indian Premier League. KKR are currently at the second last position in the IPL 2025 points table and the defending champions will look to turn the table around very quickly. The Ajinkya Rahane-led Kolkata side suffered a heartbreaking loss at the hands of arch-rivals Royal Challengers Bengaluru. Courtesy of a Kohli masterclass, RCB decimated Kolkata by 7 wickets remaining.

The KKR outfit is very different to the squad that lifted the IPL trophy last year. New captain, new mentor and new support staff, the defending champions are trying to pivot through the monumental changes that their squad has gone through. Kolkata play the first away game against inaugural champions Rajasthan Royals on March 26, 2025 in Guwahati.

Before the start of their first away game, players and support staff of the Kolkata Knight Riders visted the Maa Kamkhya Temple situated in Guwahati. Ajinkya Rahane, Varun Chakaravarthy, Chetan Sakaria, Ramandeep Singh alongside KKR CEO Venky Mysore and Head Coach Chandrakant Pandit were all spotted seeking blessings from the Goddess for another successful IPL campaign.

'As mentioned, it is one of the most divine places in India. You can feel the vibe, the energy when you are inside. So, obviously, it feels really good to come here. We got the 'darshan', which feels really good', said Kolkata Knight Riders skipper Ajinkya Rahane. Despite the loss against Royal Challengers Bengaluru in their first game, it was Ajinkya Rahane's innings that stood out. Rahane ended up scoring 56 off 31 deliveries.

Kolkata And Rajasthan In Search For Crucial Two Points

Kolkata Knight Riders and Rajasthan Royals, both have been outplayed in different departments of the game in their respective opening clash. KKR's batting against spin was tested in the RCB clash, whereas Rajasthan Royals' bowling received a brutal hammering from the bowlers of Sunrisers Hyderabad. KKR and RR, both will be raring to go and earn their first points of IPL 2025.
