IPL 2025: Rohit Sharma is arguably the best batter in white-ball cricket in this era. The Indian captain recently led his side to Champions Trophy 2025 glory and straight after that he left for Maldives for a family vacation. During his vacation in Maldives, Rohit shared pictures on his social media handle of his stay in the beautiful country. But things did not go as per plan on his arrival in India.
When he arrived at the airport in Mumbai, he had reporters waiting outside the airport to get a glimpse of him. But things got ugly when Rohit seemingly lost his cool on a video journalist present there. The clip of the confrontation of Rohit with the video journalist has surfaced on social space and is going viral:
Meanwhile, Rohit shared dreamy images of his family as he enjoys some downtime ahead of the IPL 2025. The skipper shared pictures over Instagram, captioning “Sun Sea Sand .. Just what the doctors ordered.”
The Indian captain is expected to join the pre-season Mumbai Indians camp this week. MI begin their 2025 campaign on March 23 in Chennai, a day after the season opener between Kolkata Knight Riders and Royal Challengers Bengaluru in Kolkata.

The former MI captain found time to unwind after a busy 2024-25 season in which he led India in Tests and ODIs. Rohit also played a round of Ranji Trophy after his batting failures in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.
Meanwhile, there is massive speculations around Rohit's future in the game. And hence after leading the side to the title, Rohit broke silence on retirement, confirming that he does not want to throw in the towel now.
"Right now, I am taking things as they come. It wouldn’t be fair for me to think too far ahead. At this moment, my focus is on playing well and maintaining the right mindset. I don’t want to draw any lines and say whether I will or won’t play in the 2027 World Cup," Rohit told Star Sports after winning the Champions Trophy.
While his place in the Test side is up for debate after his woeful form in the 2024-25 season, Rohit has silenced doubters, who called for his retirement in one-day internationals.
