The action-packed game between the Rajasthan Royals and Kolkata Knight Riders was briefly interrupted after a fan jumped the fences and rushed onto the pitch. The enthusiastic fan made his way towards Riyan Parag, who was playing his homecoming match at the Barsapara Stadium in Guwahati, Assam . The moment left cricketers as well as the commentators on air surprised as the play had to be paused for a brief moment to take the devoted fan away.
The moment happened at the beginning of the 11th over when Riyan Parag came out to bowl. Quinton de Kock was on strike and he had taken guard. However, he pulled out at the last moment as the RR skipper made his run-up.
A fan had invaded the pitch, and he went towards RR's stand-in skipper Riyan Parag and touched his feet. The pitch invader also hugged him before being detained by the stadium security. Parag, who was about to bowl a delivery, looked bemused. After the invader was taken off the field, the play officially resumed.
Riyan Parag was the stand-in skipper for the match as Sanju Samson, the regular skipper, was recovering from his injury on the finger.
