Indian cricketer KC Cariappa, known for his contributions to teams like Kolkata Knight Riders, Punjab Kings, and Rajasthan Royals in the IPL, has reportedly filed a complaint to the police seeking intervention in a case involving his former girlfriend. Cariappa is allegedly facing threats from his former girlfriend, who is threatening to destroy his cricket career.

Cariappa files police complaint against former girlfriend

KC Cariappa reported that the woman not only issued threats against him but also warned his family members of severe consequences. This complaint has come a year after the same woman had previously filed a case against him. Cariappa revealed to the police that he had been in a relationship with the woman. However, due to her struggles with drug addiction and alcoholism, he found it untenable to sustain the relationship.

Despite Cariappa's attempts to persuade her to seek help for her issues, she remained steadfast in her destructive behavior, said the cricketer. She also resorted to threatening self-harm, placing the blame squarely on him. A senior police officer confirmed that an investigation is currently underway based on Cariappa's formal complaint.

On the flip side, the same woman had complained in 2022, accusing the cricketer of impregnating her and giving abortion pills. She asserted that Cariappa had made promises of marriage. 

Cariappa plays for the Mizoram cricket team at the domestic level. The 29-year-old previously played for Karnataka when he made his First-Class debut in 2021.
