From batting, fielding, running between the wickets and smacking huge shots. Rinku Singh has done it all in his sprouting cricket career for Team India and the Kolkata Knight Riders. With the 2025 season all set to begin, the defending champions are making notable improvements in their game plan and look stunning as they perform in practice matches and training. But the middle-order batter has recently proved that he has a bowling arm. Rinku's hidden talent came to light during the Knight Riders' training camp at Eden Gardens.
Rinku Singh Seen Bowling In The Nets Under Moeen Ali's Guidance
The Kolkata Knight Riders have a lot on the line in the IPL 2025 season. This year, the franchise underwent significant changes, including a huge captaincy shift. With Ajinkya Rahane leading at the helm, the three-time IPL champions would be up in action against nine mighty sides who would be hungry for a win this year. Interestingly, KKR has got themselves a unique bowling option as finisher Rinku Singh was seen bowling off-break deliveries at the nets.
In a video shared by the Kolkata Knight Riders on 'X' [Formerly Twitter], Rinku Singh was seen bowling in the nets. When asked what was his bowling style, he promptly responded "off-break" and that he was learning from Moeen Ali, who was also featured in the clip. Rinku bowled a couple of spin deliveries, which landed in a decent-length area. “UPDATE: We've added another bowler to our squad,” KKR captioned the video.
The video shared by KKR is intriguing, but it was done on a light note, as it will be unusual for the management to deploy Rinku as a bowler. He will remain as the team's part in the middle order as he has the game-changing capacity.

Kolkata Knight Riders Have A Big Task On Their Shoulders
After Kolkata Knight Riders' success in the IPL 2024 season, it could be difficult for them to replicate their heroics in the 18th edition of the cash-rich league. With significant players like skipper Shreyas Iyer, and veteran pacer Mitchell Starc & more not being a part of the franchise, many believe it would be difficult for them to do so.

However, Purple and Gold have managed to secure their core strength and deployed the veteran Ajinkya Rahane as its skipper, a proven choice in domestic cricket. With stars like Rinku Singh and Varun Chakaravarthy getting retained and Venkatesh Iyer being brought back, KKR will be head over heels to retain the title.
