Ind vs Ban: Jasprit Bumrah was at his best with the new ball as he cleaned up Shadman Islam early in Chennai on Friday. It was a length delivery angling into top of off, Shadman did not cover the off-stump and shoulders arms, the ball clipped the top of off. It is a dream start for Bumrah and India after they folded for 376. The wicket early into his spell will give Bumrah a whole lot of confidence going ahead. With the new ball, India needed an early wicket just to set the tone and it was their main man with the ball Bumrah standing up and getting counted. What a player!

Earlier in the day, unbeaten batters Ravindra Jadeja and Ravichandran Aswhin started the day with a lot of expectations on them. Unfortunately, Jadeja perished early and then India folded quickly. Akashdeep played a few attractive shots before he too departed. Ashwin added seven runs to his overnight score before departing for 113. At the time of filing the copy, India are in a commanding position having reduced Bangladesh to 22 for three. Bumrah picked up the first wicket and then Akashdeep picked up two in two balls. Mushfiqur Rahim and Najmul Shanto are in the middle and they would be expected to get Bangladesh on track.

After winning the toss, Bangladesh decided to bowl, and Hasan Mahmud forced Team India's top-order batsmen, including Shubman Gill, Rohit Sharma , and Virat Kohli , to cave in. But the all-rounders unleashed their wrath as R Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja combined for a strong 195 partnership, raising the total to 339/6 by the end of the first day in Chennai.
