Jasprit Bumrah's absence in the Champions Trophy hasn't really affected India's plans. The Men In Blue have racked up back to back wins and became the first team to seal a place in the Champions Trophy semifinal.

Jasprit Bumrah Ruled Out Of Champions Trophy 2025 With A Back Injury

Bumrah wasn't involved in the second innings in the Sydney Test as he has been struggling with a back spasm which also forced him to miss the Champions Trophy 2025. BCCI was hopeful that the ace pacer would recover in time for the marquee event and he was even included in the provisional squad for the Champions Trophy.

But as soon as the final reports came, it became clear that India won't have the service of the 31 year old in the Champions Trophy and Harshit Rana replaced him in the 15 member squad. There have been concerns regarding Bumrah's fitness as the IPL 2025 is also hovering on the horizon. Mumbai Indians are scheduled to open their IPL campaign with a big ticket clash against Chennai Super Kings on March 23.

Jasprit Bumrah Provides Positive Fitness Update

But in a major boost, Bumrah has now resumed bowling in the nets. The fast bowler is seen bowling in full throttle and it will be a big encouragement for the five time IPL winners. He was refently conferred with the ICC Men’s Cricketer Of The Year, ICC Men’s Test Player Of The Year honours and was also named in the ICC Men’s Test Team Of The Year and ICC T20I Team Of The Year. He was pivotal to India's plans in the 2023 ODI World Cup and the 2024 T2-0 World Cup and it remains to be seen if the Men In Blue manage to get past the final hurdle without their star bowler.

Having already qualkified for the knockouts, India will now face New Zealand in a inconsequential tie on 2nd March followed by the much anticipated semifinal.
