'Bowlers GRAVEYARD!': Kevin Pietersen trolls PCB for using flat pitch in 1st PAK vs ENG 2024 Test

Former England cricketer Kevin Pietersen has taken a dig at the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) for preparing a flat pitch for the ongoing first Test match between Pakistan and England in Multan. Pietersen, known for his outspoken views, labeled the pitch a "bowlers' graveyard" after Pakistan dominated Day 1 of the match, scoring over 300 runs for the loss of just four wickets.

Kevin Pietersen took to social media platform X to express his disapproval, writing, "That wicket in Multan - bowlers GRAVEYARD!" The pitch in Multan has come under scrutiny for being overly batting-friendly, with many experts and fans echoing Pietersen's sentiments.

The Pakistan Cricket Board's decision to prepare a flat pitch has raised eyebrows, as it seems to have given the home team an unfair advantage. The pitch offered little to no assistance to the England bowlers on Day 1 of the first Test match, making it a challenging task to make inroads into the Pakistani batting lineup.

Shan Masood and Abdullah Shafique scored a century each to help Pakistan put up 328/4 in 86 overs at stumps on Day 1. Remember that this is the same Pakistan team that recently lost a two-match Test series to Bangladesh 2-0. Bangladesh had never won a Test match in Pakistan before the recent series.

Recently, there were reports that Pakistan players had asked the PCB to make flat pitches for the England series but head coach Jason Gillespie apparently did not agree with the idea. However, after the first day of play in the opening Test in Multan, it seems that flat pitches have indeed been used.
