Modest Rahul Dravid Asks Kids to Lower Their Bats as He Gets a Guard of Honour at Bengaluru Academy

A selfless Rahul Dravid humble asked the kids to lower their bats as he received a guard of honour on his arrival at a Bengaluru Cricket Academy.

Rahul Dravid is regarded as a gem of a person and a popular figure on the Indian cricket team. The great Indian cricketer and Team India coach ended his career on a triumphant note, winning the ICC Men's T20 World Cup, breaking the Men in Blue's long-standing drought. To erase the title deficit was every Indian cricket fan's ambition, which ended up happening in Barbados. Team India returned to a hero's welcome in the country. Even Dravid was greeted warmly at a local cricket academy when he returned to Bengaluru, his hometown.

Rahul Dravid gets a hero's welcome, receives a Guard of Honour from kids at a Bengaluru Cricket Academy

A local cricket academy in Bengaluru presented Rahul Dravid with the most incredible gesture possible as the outgoing India coach arrived. Dravid received a hero's welcome as he made his way down. The academy's coaching staff welcomed him and applauded him with flowers and he shook hands with all of them. As he walked ahead, the students of the academy raised their bats to give the coach a Guard of Honour as they gave him a grand applause.

The T20 World Cup-winning coach acknowledged the gesture and also made a generous request to the kids as he asked them to put their bats down. They also came forward to shake hands with him as Dravid moved forward.

Dravid has won hearts both on and off the pitch as he successfully guided Team India to unprecedented heights. Despite losing out on the ODI World Cup, the Dravid-mentored side persevered and won the T20 World Cup in the Caribbean.

Not only that, but Dravid is requesting equal remuneration for the coaching staff. According to sources, Dravid was expected to receive ₹5 crore, the same as the 15-man squad. However, he has declined the increased incentive from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and wants to get the same amount as his support personnel, i.e., ₹2.5 Crore.
