MS Dhoni To Play Legends League Cricket? MSD's CSK Teammate Gives A Positive Take

IPL 2025: While there is much speculation over MS Dhoni will play the upcoming season of the IPL or not, former CSK star Suresh Raina has made a huge revelation. Raina, who is extremely close to the former CSK captain, revealed that Dhoni is inclined towards continuing to play the cash-rich league. On the sidelines of an event in Delhi on Tuesday, Raina made the big claim about the 43-year-old legendary player.

‘He Will Definitely Play’

"He will definitely play. Kyu piche pade ho aap (Why are you guys after him so much)? Don't you want to see him play? Just let him play," Raina responded to our reporter's query. 

A few days back, reports claimed that the Super Kings are waiting for the Retention rules to be announced. It is understood that only once the rules are out will the franchise take a call on Dhoni over should they retain him or not. Another factor that could play a role in Dhoni's participation in the league is his fitness. It is no secret that the legendary cricketer has been struggling with his knee over the past two seasons. 

Raina making such a claim will hold value because of his closeness with the former CSK captain. Known popularly as 'Mr. IPL ', Raina was a vital cog in CSK's wheel for a long time. The swashbuckling southpaw was associated with the franchise since the start and played a key role in their several IPL title wins as well.

Dhoni, who led CSK to five IPL titles, stepped down as the captain of the side in the previous season. Ruturaj Gaikwad led the Super Kings in IPL 2024.
