IPL 2025: Now it is confirmed that regular captain Hardik Pandya will not be leading the side in Mumbai Indians IPL 2025 opener versus Chennai Super Kings. Hardik would be serving a one-match ban that he picked up during the last game of the 2024 season. So, he will not be there and to make matters worse for MI, premier pacer Jasprit Bumrah will also not take part in the game on March 23.

MI Predicted XI

So now in this case, what will be the ideal playing XI for MI sans the two big stars?

In all probability, former captain Rohit Sharma would open the innings with the explosive Ryan Rickleton. Without a doubt, Suryakumar Yadav would slot in at No. 3 and he will be followed by Tilak Varma at No. 4. In the absence of Hardik, Robin Minz is likely to take up that spot.

Naman Dhir follows and there is a high chance Arjun Tendulkar gets picked in the XI. Mitchell Santner and Mujeeb-ur-Rahman could be the frontline spinners for the game. Deepak Chahar and Trent Boult would be the frontline seamers for the game. It looks like a good XI, but of course players like Hardik and Bumrah will be missed.

MI Playing XI Sans Hardik, Bumrah: Rohit Sharma, Ryan Rickleton, Suryakumar Yadav, Tilak Varma, Robin Minz, Naman Dhir, Arjun Tendulkar, Mitchell Santner, Mujeeb-ur-Rahman, Deepak Chahar, Trent Boult.

MI Over The Years

With five IPL titles in their cabinet, MI is easily one of the most successful IPL franchises in the history of the league. But in recent times, they have not lived upto the billing, something they would like to rectify in the upcoming season.
