IPL 2025: Is there already a rift in the Lucknow Super Giants camp brewing? Well, the signs are not very good. Following the heartbreaking loss on Monday against Delhi Capitals , captain Rishabh Pant reckoned the batters did their bit and put up a decent score.
Despite this statement from Pant after the match, LSG coach Klusener did not seem to agree with the former. Klusener reckoned that was not the case as the batters did not live upto the expectations.
"I think our top-order batters played really well and I think it was a pretty good score on this wicket," Pant had said at the post-match presentation.
"If I have to put a finger on it, I would like to say we've probably left 20 or 30 runs with the bat out there. That was probably why we ended up being under pressure with the ball," Klusener was quoted saying.
"I thought they [DC] finished well with the bat, but the reason why we're in that position is because we didn't score enough runs, which we should have. I thought when the bowlers got it right, there was a little bit of spin, so I thought it was a very good wicket. There was a little bit in there for everybody."
For the Capitals, it was Ashutosh Sharma, who cam up with the goods. Ashutosh hit a belligerent 66 off 31 balls to take DC over the line in a game that went right down to the wire. Ashutosh hit five sixs and five fours in his match-winning knock. As expected, he was awarded the player of the match.
Following the loss, Lucknow would be desperate to bounce back to win. The Giants play Sunrisers next on March 27.
