Why was Rinku Singh’s last ball match-winning sixer not counted?

The first T20I took place on Thursday, and India beat Australia by a score of two wickets. Josh Inglis' incredible 110 runs helped Australia score a fantastic 208 runs in the 20 overs they had available.

In response to the challenge, Suryakumar Yadav and Ishan Kishan both scored fifty runs, which helped India reach the goal in the 20th over. Even though both batsmen were out, Rinku Singh came through as the hero and led India to win with seven runs needed off of the last six balls.

In Sean Abbott's final over, Indian players Axar Patel, Ravi Bishnoi, and Arshdeep Singh all lost. When there was only one run left on the last ball, Rinku Singh hit a huge six, which seemed to seal the win. The celebrations were briefly stopped, though, when the throw was called a no-ball because the bowler's foot crossed the line. Because of this, the six didn't count, but India still won because of the extra run that was given for the no-ball. India reached 209/8 in 19.5 overs, which was the end of their game.

This amazing run chase is India's best in T20I history, beating their previous best of 208 against the West Indies in 2019. India now has a 1-0 lead in the series after this win.
