India will take on New Zealand in the last group stage fixture in Dubai on Sunday, February 2. Both teams have secured two victories each and this match will decide who will top Group A.
India defeated Bangladesh to open their Champions Trophy campaign, followed by a dominating win against Pakistan to seal a place in the semifinal. There were concerns over Rohit Sharma's fitness but KL Rahul brushed aside all the rumours confirming there are no such fitness issues in the Indian team.
Rohit Sharma On The Verge Of Historic Milestone
Rohit has struggled for runs of late and could only manage 41 and 20 runs respectively in the last two matches. The Indian captain is on the cusp of a historic milestone against New Zealand. The 37-year-old needs 68 runs more to get past the legendary Sachin Tendulkar in the list of Indian captains with most runs in ODI cricket.

As a captain, Tendulkar amassed 2454 runs in 73 matches at an average of 37.75. Rohit is currently 7th in this list with 2387 runs from 53 ODIs and will leapfrog Sachin if he manages another 68 runs against New Zealand.
MS Dhoni currently tops the list followed by Virat Kohli and Mohammad Azharuddin in the second and third position respectively.
Rohit Sharma's Form Has Been An Issue
Rohit's form has been a concern for the Indian team. The Indian skipper endured a very poor Border Gavaskar Trophy and India went on to lose the five-match Test series 3-1. He showed flashes of his brilliance with a long-awaited century against England recently but hasn't replicated his form in the Champions Trophy so far.

Ahead of the semifinal, he will seek to rediscover his form and the match against New Zealand would be a perfect stage for him. Rohit's no-nonsense approach has worked perfectly for the Men In Blue in the last two ICC events and he will be eager to lift his second ICC title in Dubai.
