Harshit Rana answers who is harder to bowl at: Virat Kohli or Rohit Sharma
Right-arm pacer Harshit Rana came out as a major revelation for KKR in IPL 2024. The bowler featured in 13 matches in the season and took 19 wickets for his side. Rana also showcased his expressive side on the field as his "flying kiss" celebration garnered attention and landed him into trouble as well. He was suspended for one match for his overboard act.
Controversy aside, Harshit Rana is receiving kudos from different sections of the cricket fraternity for the performance he exhibited and is seen as a potential India player. The 22-year-old talent recently appeared on Shubhankar Mishra's YouTube show and paid heed to a variety of subjects.
During the session, he was asked to express who is tougher to face, Virat Kohli or Rohit Sharma. Considering the stature of these batsmen, bowlers often take a diplomatic route while answering such question, but Rana had a two-word answer- "Virat Bhaiya."
He reasoned his answer by explaining the unparalleled quality that Virat Kohli possesses.
"He understands the game better than anyone else, he takes it deep. He knows how to build a game. He is not called as the chase master for nothing. Even if he is not chasing and batting first then also he builds the game for his team. Thus, it becomes highly imperative to take his wicket at the start. If he does not get out in the powerplay, then he keeps constructing, that's why."
Rohit Sharma carries special quality
Rana also had some words to say about Rohit Sharma. He made it known that the batsman has a special innate quality.
"He has so much time that we think that no body in the world could trouble him with pace. When the pacer gets into the mindset that he cannot beat him with pace then he already is at the backfoot against Rohit. So, he has a lot of time in batting, and that's a special quality.
