As Rohit Sharma prepares to lead Team India at the upcoming T20 World Cup in the USA, his wife, Ritika Sajdeh, is embroiled in controversy over a social media post. Ritika shared a reel on Instagram with the phrase "All Eyes on Rafah," expressing support for Palestine. The phrase highlights the ongoing conflict in Rafah, Gaza, where over 1.4 million Palestinians are seeking shelter amidst escalating violence with Israel.

Rohit Sharma's wife trolled for supporting Palestine

Ritika Sajdeh’s post, which aimed to shed light on the humanitarian crisis, has drawn significant backlash. The phrase "All Eyes on Rafah" has been associated with awareness campaigns about the severe conditions in Gaza, as noted by Iran’s Embassy in India. Despite the intention to show solidarity, Ritika has been subjected to harsh criticism and trolling on social media platforms, especially by right-wing handles.

Meanwhile, Rohit Sharma's wife is not the only one who shared the image. BJP MP Manoj Tiwari's daughter Rhiti also shared the same post on her Instagram story. Many actors from Bollywood and regional film industries shared the post as well. 

Rohit Sharma's wife Ritika Sajdeh, however, deleted the post after a few hours after she realised the magnitude of it. Rhiti Tiwari also removed the post from her handle.

Rohit Sharma is all set to lead Team India

As far as Rohit Sharma is concerned, he will next be seen leading Team India at the T20 World Cup 2024. The tournament is slated to take place from June 2 to June 29. India will play their opening game against Ireland on June 5. 

Rohit Sharma and other Team India players have flown to the United States, where they will start their preparations. India will play a warm-up match against Bangladesh before the start of the tournament. Rohit Sharma did not have a good IPL 2024 campaign. His team Mumbai Indians finished at the bottom of the points  table under the captaincy of Hardik Pandya.
