Former AUS Star Appreciates Hardik Pandya ’s Optimistic View Towards Captain Suryakumar Yadav
While speaking in one of his videos on his YouTube channel, veteran Australian cricketer Brad Hogg reflected upon how all-rounder Hardik Pandya has embraced Suryakumar Yadav as the T20I skipper, and how beautifully he has begun his redemption arc in T20 cricket while not being the captain. Hogg went on to highlight the benefit of having someone like Hardik on the team who can deliver in both batting and bowling.
"I love the way he's (Hardik) accepted Suryakumar Yadav as the captain of this Indian team, but it's also helped his game as well. He's really starting to expand with the bat as well, showed his true form. He struggled a little bit through the last IPL , and we all know why, because there was a lot of pressure on him moving from Gujarat Titans to Mumbai Indians , but he's just shown his true class here.
"If you're going to be a dominant team in T20Is, you got to have your medium-pace all-rounders, and that's what Hardik brings. Even though he is a little bit more expensive than your conventional bowler, he still adds depth to your batting," Brad Hogg said.
Hardik Pandya proved his worth during the ICC Men's T20 World Cup as he dished out absolute carnage with the bat and the ball. He continued his spectacular form of cricket in white-ball cricket as the superstar all-rounder delivered a strong outing against Bangladesh . In the preceding T20I series against Bangladesh, Hardik amassed an incredible strike rate of 222.64 while smashing 118 runs in three games. Even though he did not get the T20I captaincy role, his explosive form continues to dazzle Indian Cricket fans.
