SRH vs GT, IPL 2022 Highlights: SRH register emphatic 8 wicket win with 5 balls to spare

The SunRisers Hyderabad win by eight wickets as they chased down the target of 163 runs, with five balls to spare. Below are the top performers of the match:

The SunRisers Hyderabad are in complete control against the Gujarat Titans as they require just one run to win off the final over.

In-form SunRisers Hyderabad captain Kane Williamson was dismissed after scoring an outstanding fifty by Gujarat Titans skipper Hardik Pandya. At the end of 17 overs, SRH's score is 135/2, with the team requiring 28 runs to win off the last 3 overs.

SunRisers Hyderabad captain Kane Williamson is in outstanding form with the bat as he smashed an impressive fifty against current table-toppers Gujarat Titans. At the end of 16 overs, SRH have scored 129 runs for the loss of one wicket.

At the end of 15 overs, the SunRisers Hyderabad have scored 116 runs for the loss of just one wicket. They now require 47 runs to win off the last five overs.

Abhishek Sharma was dismissed by Gujarat Titans' vice-captain for 42 runs off 32 deliveries in the fifth ball of the ninth over. At the end of 10 overs, SRH's score is 75/1.

While chasing a target of 163 runs, the SunRisers Hyderabad have scored 58 runs for the loss of no wicket after 8 overs. As a result, they are in complete control of the match, resulting in Gujarat Titans being desperate for a wicket.

Despite a slow start to their innings, SRH managed to score 42 runs for no loss in the powerplay. After hitting four boundaries in the previous over, Abhishek Sharma has scored 24 runs off 20 deliveries. Meanwhile, captain Kane Williamson is currently batting at 18 runs off 16 deliveries.

Gujarat Titans have set SunRisers Hyderabad a target of 163 runs after captain Hardik Pandya scored an unbeaten fifty.

Having been put in to bat first, the Gujarat Titans have scored 118 runs for the loss of four wickets at the end of 15 overs. Shubman Gill, Matthew Wade, Sai Sudharsan and David Miller are the batters dismissed so far.

David Miller was dismissed for 12 runs off 15 deliveries by Marco Jansen. At the end of 13.4 overs, GT's score is 105/4.

At the end of 13 overs, the Gujarat Titans have scored 102 runs for the loss of three wickets. Captain Hardik Pandya continues his good form with the bat as he has scored 36 runs off 28 deliveries.

Washington Sundar gave away just four runs in the 11th over as GT took their score to 84/3.

Hardik Pandya and David Miller took singles and doubles from the 10th over of the first innings, and found themselves at 80/3 at the halfway stage of the first innings.

Aiden Markram bowled the ninth over of the innings, in which Hardik Pandya hit a giant six off the fourth ball and took his tally of sixes in IPL to 100.

Umran Malik started his spell by bowling the eighth over and started with a fierce bouncer which hit Hardik's helmet. However, Hardik displayed his class by sending the next two deliveries for beautiful boundaries. However, Umran had the last laugh as Matthew Wade was declared lbw out in the final ball of the over. Umran bowled the final delivery at 149kmph.

Washington Sundar bowled a tidy over bowling the seventh of the innings as he gave away just four runs in form of singles.

B Sai Sudharsan scored 11 individual runs during his outing, before getting dismissed by pacer T Natarajan as skipper Williamson completed the catch at mid-off. GT skipper Hardik Pandya hit a four in the last ball of the 6th over to get off the mark. GT stand at 51/2 after six overs.

GT managed to score only six runs from the 5th over of the first innings, which was bowled at tidy lengths by Marco Jansen.

SRH skipper Kane Williamson brought in Washington Sundar to bowl the fourth over. Wade hit a four in the fourth delivery through a reverse sweep as GT ended the over at 36/1.

Danger-man Shubman Gill was dismissed in the second ball of the third over, bowled by Bhuvneshwar as Rahul Tripathi took a brilliant leaping catch at covers to send him back. Gill scored seven runs from nine balls during his outing.

GT scored six runs in total after losing Gill's wicket in the third over and took the score to 30/1.

Shubman Gill hit his first boundary of the match in the second ball of the second over, which was bowled by Marco Jansen. GT added seven runs in total from the over and took their score to 24/0.

Gujarat Titans are off to a flying start after scoring 17 runs from the 1st over by Bhuvneshwar Kumar. Meanwhile, a total of 12 runs came as extra. 

Matthew Wade hit a four to score the first runs for SRH, while Bhuvneshwar Kumar bowled a wide in the next delivery, which went for four extra runs behind the keeper.

After losing the toss, Gujarat Titans captain Hardik Pandya said, "We would have bowled as well because of the dew. We are playing for the first time over here. It's always good to win, but for us, processes are more important. We got the results because we followed our plans. We need to show that we are out there to fight. Tewatia is right up there right now. It shows a lot of courage and character to do the same things day in and day out. Very happy for him and for the team as well."
