The over started with Nathan Coulter Nile bowling an above the waist height no-ball and tumbling on his follow-through. Parag completed the over and got hit for a four and a huge six by Aiden Markram in the fourth and fifth delivery of the final over. With Markram taking a single to end the over, RR earned the victory by a staggering margin of 61 runs. 

Meanwhile, Markram remained unbeaten on 57 runs off 41 deliveries, which must be a plus point for SRH.

While Sundar hit Trent Boult for a four and a six in the 19th over, Boult replied by dismissing Sundar in the fifth delivery of the over. Sundar played an incredible knock of 40 runs from 14 balls. SRH scored 15 runs from the over and took their score to 134/7.

While both batters exchanged singles in the first four deliveries of the 18th over bowled by Prasidh Krishna, Aiden Markram hit a six and four in consecutive deliveries. SRH scored 14 runs from the over, to take their total to 119/6 in 18 overs.

Sunrisers allrounder Washington Sundar finally had enough in the 17th over as he scored a total of 24 runs from Nathan COulter Nile's over by hitting a six, four fours, and a double. SRH crossed the 100-run mark and stood at 105/6 after the over. Washington is batting at 27 runs off eight balls, with Markram on the other end on 32 runs off 32 balls.

Ravichandran Ashwin completed his quota of overs by bowling the 15th over and giving away just five runs from it. 

Meanwhile, Yuzvendra Chahal picked up his third wicket of the night and 250th T20 scalp overall by dismissing Romario Shepherd in the fourth ball of the 16th over. Romario played a cameo knock of 24 runs from 18 balls. RR is just on the verge of victory as SRH need 133 runs to win from 26 balls.

Sunrisers Hyderabad scored 11 runs from the 13th over, including a four by Aiden Markram in the fourth delivery from the fourth ball. 

Romario Shepherd smacked Nathan Coulter-Nile for two consecutive sixes in the 14th over as SRH scored 17 runs in total.

Sunrisers scored 5 runs from the 12th over bowled by R Ashwin as Aiden Markram and Romario Shepherd look to resurrect the chase which looks out of reach currently.

SRH finished 10 overs of their giant chase of 211 runs with 36/4 on the scoreboard before Chahal dismissed Abdul Samad in the second delivery of the 11th over. SRH found themselves trailing at 39/5 in 11 overs.

Sunrisers scored four runs off the ninth over bowled by Yuzvendra Chahal, which also marked the dismissal of Abhishek Sharma.

Yuzvendra Chahal opened his tally of wickets in IPL 2022 by dismissing Abhishek Sharma in the second delivery of the ninth over. Sharma scored nine runs off 19 balls during his outing.

Aiden Markram hit a convincing boundary in the fifth ball of the seventh over, as SRH scored seven runs from the over.

Abhishek Sharma scored the lone run in the final over of the powerplay, as Sunrisers found themselves trailing at 14/3 in six overs, with 197 runs required to win in 84 balls.

RR pacer Trent Boult bowled another tidy over in the fifth over of the match and dismissed Nicholas Pooran in the fifth delivery. Pooran scored zero runs after facing eight balls. Meanwhile, Aiden Markram hit a boundary to open his score sheet and end the over.

RR pacer Prasidh Krishna added the second wicket to his wicket tally in the match by dismissing his former KKR teammate in the first delivery of the fourth over. Tripathi got out on a duck after facing three balls. Meanwhile, the over finished with Hyderabad scoring no runs of it.

Kane Williamson walked back to the pavilion in the fourth delivery of the second over, after a beautiful reaction catch by Devdutt Padikkal resulted in his wicket. While the length ball, bowled by Prasidh Krishna took the edge of Williamson's bat, a dive from Sanju Samson wasn't enough as the ball popped out of his hand. Padikkal reacted immediately and managed to get his fingers under that ball, completing the catch in a dramatic fashion in the process. While Williamson stood his ground, third umpire review confirmed the dismissal.

After having given SRH a monstrous target of 211 runs to chase in 20 overs, Rajasthan Royals' top pacer Trent Boult began the bowling attack on a positive note as he conceded just two runs.

After scoring 41 runs for Rajasthan Royals in his first match for the side, Devdutt Paddikal explained how delighted he was to be a part of the team as he also reflected on his batting performance.

"It was a first time experience (batting at 4) for me in the IPL. It was interesting but I was just looking to bat myself in and trust my abilities. It has been great. They (RR) have been welcoming and it is a real family here. It is a very lovable franchise and everyone here has made me feel at home. It (the surface) is a bit sticky and the odd ball is seaming a bit. Initially, Bhuvi was swinging it, so there is something in it for the bowlers. I feel we have batted really well and got a good target on the board. Hopefully (the total is enough). We have a very good bowling attack and if we can execute our plans we should be good," said the former RCB opener.

Hetmyer started the final over of RR's innings with a four, but Natarajan was quick to retaliate and dismiss him on the next ball. Hetmyer scored 33 runs off 13 balls with the help of two fours and three sixes at a strike rate of 253.84 during his knock. Natarajan took his second wicket of the night by dismissing Riyan Parag in the final over. RR finished the innings with 210/6 on the board. SRH will now chase 211 runs in 120 balls with a required run rate of 10.50.

Rajasthan Royals breached the 200-run mark in the first innings during the 19th over. Hetmyer hit two consecutive sixes off the third and fourth ball of the over. RR stood at 203/3 after 19 overs.

RR scored a total of 18 runs off the 18th over of the innings, courtesy of a four by Riyan Parag alongside a six and four by Shimron Hetmyer.

While Shimron Hetmyer survived an unsuccessful DRS call for a catch-out in the fourth delivery of the 17th over, Riyan Parag survived an unsuccessful DRS call for a catch and an lbw in the fifth delivery of the over. RR stood at 170/4 after 17 overs.

After hitting his fifty, RR skipper Sanju Samson walked back to the pavilion following his dismissal by Bhuvneshwar Kumar in the first ball of the 17th over. While Bhuvneshwar celebrated his first wicket of the match, the next batter for RR, Riyan Parag got off the mark by hitting him for a four.

RR skipper Sanju Samson reached to his half-century in the first outing of IPL 2022 by hitting Washington Sundar for consecutive sixes. Samson took 25 balls to reach the milestone and asserted his dominance. RR scored 15 runs of the 16th over and stood at 163/3.

While Padikkal started the 15th over of the innings by hitting Umran Malik for a four towards the mid-wicket fence, a four off the third delivery by Sanju Samson left everyone mesmerized. However, Umran had the last laugh by dismissing Padikkal on the individual score of 41 runs in the final ball. RR stood at 148/3 after 15 overs.

Rajasthan Royals scored 17 runs off the 14th over bowled by Romario Shepherd. Padikkal hit a four, a six, a double and another four from the first four deliveries of the over.

Umran Malik bowled a tight over bowling the 13th over of the innings, however, he also bowled two wides. RR scored seven runs from the over.

Devdutt Padikkal hit his first six of the night by striking T Natarajan over the midwicket beautifully. He hit another four in the fifth delivery of the 12th over as RR ended the over with 114/2 on the scoreboard. Meanwhile Sanju Samson has scored 37 runs off 18 balls and is nearing his fifty.

RR skipper Sanju Samson started the second half of the innings by hitting Washington Sundar for a six. Samson and Padikkal exchanged singles in the next two balls before Samson struck a fabulous reverse hit for a four in the fourth delivery of the 10th over. RR breached the 100 runs mark as Samson took a double in the next ball.

Sanju Samson hit Romario Shepherd for a beautiful six in the second delivery of the 10 over, as RR completed 10 overs of the innings with 87/2 on the scoreboard.

Umran Malik returned to bowl his second spell of the match in the ninth over and removed Jos Buttler in the first delivery. Buttler scored 35 runs off 28 balls during his outing. RR scored 3 runs off the over.

RR skipper Sanju Samson hit his first four of the night by hitting Abhishek Sharma for a four in the third delivery of the eighth over. Samson further hit a six in the final ball and took RR's score to 75/1 in 8 overs.

SRH skipper Kane Williamson brought back Romario Shepherd into the attack to bowl the seventh over and was rewarded immediately with the wicket of Yashasvi Jaiswal. Jaiswal scored 20 runs off 16 balls with the help of two fours and one six, while Buttler continues to bat on the individual score of 33 runs off 25 balls. RR scored two runs off the 7th over and finished with 60/1 on the board.

Youngster Yashasvi Jaiswal welcomed T Natarajan by hitting him for a boundary in the first ball of the sixth over. However, Natarajan was quick to current his length, as RR finished the powerplay with 58 runs on the board with the loss of no wickets.

Washington Sundar bowled a no-ball in his first delivery of the night. Yashasvi Jaiswal hit a fabulous six in the second ball of the over, while RR crossed the 50-run mark after Buttler hit another six in the fourth delivery.

Jos Buttler started the fourth over of the innings, being bowled by young pacer Umran Mallik with a four and six. Umran bowled a no-ball in the third delivery of the over, which was dropped by Abdul Samad in the first slip and the ball went for another four. Buttler finished the over by hitting another six. RR stood at 34/0 in 4 overs.

Bhuvneshwar bowled another no-ball by overstepping in the fourth delivery of the third over. Jaiswal hit a four in the free hit as RR finished the over with 13/0 on the scoreboard.

Yashsvi Jaiswal scored the first runs for RR off the bat by taking a single in the second ball of the second over, being bowled by IPL debutant Romario Shepherd. Buttler hit the first four of the match in the fifth ball of the over, as RR found themselves at 6/0 in 2 overs.

While SRH erupted with celebrations of Jos Buttler's wicket in the fifth delivery of the first over, the RR opener survived as the delivery by Bhuvneshwar Kumar was declared a no-ball. Bhuvneshwar bowled a beautiful first over with the ball swinging both ways. RR scored just 1 run off the 1st over.

Jos Buttler and Yashasvi Jaiswal opened the batting for RR, while Bhuvneshwar Kumar opened the bowling in the first innings of the match.

After winning the toss, Sunrisers Hyderabad Kane Williamson opted to bowl first. He said the grass is short and also mentioned the potential dew factor at the MCA Stadium in Pune. He also praised the team's coaching staff comprising of Dale Steyn, Muttiah Muralitharan, and Brian Lara.
