Suresh Raina Commends BCCI's Decision to Focus on Red-Ball Domestic Cricket with Duleep Trophy
Suresh Raina has praised the BCCI's choice to give domestic cricket first priority. Raina thinks it's a good idea to have top players compete in Duleep Trophy.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has been taking steps to ensure that the Team India players do not miss out on playing domestic cricket. The Cricket Board has been ensuring the same, and they took up strict action against the ones who did not follow the amends. A former India cricketer has welcomed the decision to prioritize red-ball domestics among the ones who are available to play.

Suresh Raina Welcomes BCCI's Decision to Feature Team India Stars in Duleep Trophy Tournament
Suresh Raina was in interaction with ANI at a Legends League Cricket Event, where he applauded the BCCI's decision to prioritize domestic cricket. Raina feels that top players taking part in the Duleep Trophy tournament is a nice initiative by the Cricket Board. He also expressed his thoughts on India's chances against Bangladesh, saying that they cannot take the visiting side lightly due to their fine spin bowling arsenal and players performing well.
"Now, a team for Tests will be formed. Top players playing Duleep Trophy is a nice initiative by the BCCI. You get to know a lot of things when you play red-ball cricket.
"You cannot take Bangladesh lightly as they have a fine spin bowling attack and some good players who have done well for a long time. This series will be a fine match practice for the tour to Australia," Suresh Raina said.

The Duleep Trophy will commence India's domestic cricket season, and the tournament will feature Team India superstars like Rishabh Pant, Shubman Gill, Ishan Kishan, and many more. The players' performance will help the BCCI selectors determine the squad for the upcoming Test series against Bangladesh at home. Before the tournament's commencement, it was revealed that India all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja had been released from the team. Moreover, Mohammed Siraj and Umran Malik will also miss out on the tournament's first-round matches because of illness and have been replaced. But there is no word on Jadeja's release.
The red-ball tournament will commence on September 5, 2024, with matches taking place in Anantapur, Andhra Pradesh and the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.
