The star Indian batter captained the team in the series that ended in a one-all draw. Surya was formidable with the bat in the 3-match affair and ended up attaining the most runs in the series (156).

While he was able to lead the team to victory in the match, Suryakumar Yadav endured a Grade –II ankle tear during the fielding duration. The rupture is quite serious and as a consequence, SKY will miss out on the upcoming series against Afghanistan. He displayed his state via an Instagram post, and despite wearing a pneumatic walker boot and needing help to cover the distance, the batsman was able to disseminate laughter.

Irrespective of all the criticism he encountered for not being able to make the most of the opportunities in the ODI format, Suryakumar Yadav remains a performer of the highest quality when it comes to T20s. The player has been at the pinnacle of the ICC rankings of the section for over a year now. In the recently concluded series against South Africa, he was able to again make his mark and scored a phenomenal century in the 3rd T20I. Though he may take some time to recover from the ankle injury that he has suffered, he will be back before the T20 World Cup of 2024, and if he continues the ongoing form, then he may prove to be the biggest weapon of the arsenal.
