Temba Bavuma ruled out of IND-SA 2nd Test match, Dean Elgar to take over

Temba Bavuma walked off with the aid of the team's support staff and did not come back for the rest of the match. Later in the day, an update came up on Bavuma's situation and whether he will come to bat. The constant medical evaluations concluded that batting at this stage of the game would put the skipper's left hamstring injury at risk of intensifying.

"Temba is not in a great physical state. He was ready to bat at every turn, and we kept monitoring it. When we reached where we reached, not because we felt that was enough, we felt that if we sent him out then there was a potential risk that he could aggravate the risk even further," Proteas' Test Captain Shukri Conrad said.
