Shreyas Iyer's longing to bowl for India hindered by physio's caution
Shreyas Iyer expressed his excitement to be a star bowler for India, but he also mentioned that, given his past injury history, strength and conditioning experts have advised against it. The physiotherapist's precautionary approach aims to put his long-term fitness and rehabilitation ahead of his quick return to bowling. Speaking on Jio Cinema, Shreyas Iyer said,
“I have been longing to bowl, but the strength and conditioning coaches, they are right 'now you are not going to bowl for some time'. That's the sad part of it,”
Shreyas Iyer has bowled just 7.3 overs in his international cricket career, so far failing to leave a lasting impression. In spite of this, he has 10 wickets in T20, List A, and first-class cricket, demonstrating his ability as an all-rounder.
