Congress leader Shama Mohamed has been the subject of severe backlash following his derogatory post against Rohit Sharma . After the New Zealand match, Shama said that the Indian captain is “fat for a sportsman.”
Congress Spokesperson Shama Mohamed Made Derogatory Remark On Rohit Sharma
The spokesperson of Indian National Congress took to Twitter to post, "Need to lose weight! And of course the most unimpressive Captain India has ever had!” Later she deleted her post after she was rebuked by her party.
Former India Star Hits Back At Shama Mohamed
Shama didn’t even stop there as she went on to defend citing the post was generic in general. Now Amay Khurasiya hit back at the politician for her comments on the Indian captain.

In an exclusive interview with Republic TV, the former India cricketer showered praise on him insisting there is only one Rohit Sharma.
“Who is Shama? How many spokespersons are there for the Congress party? There is only one Rohit Sharma. Thank you.
“She becomes famous by commenting on Rohit, not vice versa. They will also get fat one day.

“This man brought us the World Cup. Cricketers only want a little modicum of respect, nothing else. Rohit is a man with quintessential qualities. Saba madam should be careful. It's not right.”

Rohit led India to the 2023 ODI World Cup final where the Men In Blue had to concede a defeat to Australia. The 37-year-old also played a pivotal role guiding India to their 2nd T20 World Cup title last year. India are currently taking on Australia in the Champions Trophy 2025 semifinal and are just two steps away from clinching their second CT title.
