Champions Trophy 2025: Virat Kohli brought his best to the table against Australia in the semi-final on Tuesday to guide India into the final. Kohli scored a brilliant 84 off 98 balls where he controlled India's chase and never allowed the dressing-room to panic. Unfortunately, Kohli fell 16 runs short of yet another ODI century.
But by the time he perished, India was on the cusp of the win. India eventually won the game by four wickets to seal a spot in the final and ensure the summit clash takes place in Dubai and not Pakistan . But, despite the competition between the two teams, Kohli found a way to win hearts. The former India captain was spotted hugging Steve Smith and Glenn Maxwell while the teams were shaking hands after the game. The clip is now going viral on social space.

‘Only effort that day and today was to string in enough partnerships’
"It was pretty similar to the other day against Pakistan as well. For me it is about understanding the conditions and preparing my game accordingly.. just rotating strike because partnerships on this pitch are the most important thing. My only effort that day and today was to string in enough partnerships. The time that I got out, the plan was to get 20 more and try and finish it off in a couple of overs. Usually that's the template I follow but sometimes you can't execute things how you want to," Kohli said.
India will now await their opposition in the final. One thing is confirmed, the summit clash would be in Dubai where India will either play New Zealand or South Africa.
