Champions Trophy 2025: Virat Kohli is a crowd favourite everywhere he goes. He is arguably the most popular cricketer on planet and that was evident in Dubai. On Thursday, after India beat Bangladesh by six wickets to get their CT 2025 campaign off to a winning start, Kohli seemed to be in the firing line unnecessarily. While the Indian team was walking into the ground to shake hands with the opposition after the match, fans were heard taunting Kohli, They were yelling things like ‘No. 1 Test player’ and calling his name in a sarcastic manner. For the unversed, Kohli is at the 26th spot in the latest Test rankings. This is uncalled for from the fans and it would be interesting to see if ICC steps in here and takes action. Here is the clip that is now going viral:

KOHLI TAUNTED

Meanwhile, Kohli, who has been facing the heat for his form, did get his eye in but could not carry on. He was dismissed for 22 off 38 balls. But the concerning aspect of his dismissal was the fact that he perished to a leg-spinner again. Kohli hit a solitary boundary during his stay and he did not look at ease while in the middle. In recent times, Kohli has often got dismissed by leg-spinners.

WHAT LIES AHEAD FOR TEAM INDIA?

With the comprehensive win over Bangladesh, India has strengthened it's chances of making it through to the semi-final. Only two teams from both groups will advance for the semis. India take on arch-rivals Pakistan in their next game on February 23. That is the big-ticket clash and that would certainly draw a massive crowd.
