ICC Champions Trophy 2025: Virat Kohli is in the twilight period of his career and hence there are massive speculations over his future in ODIs and Tests. The 36-year-old is still fit, but does he have the desire to continue on? Kohli has time and again claimed that he would hang up his boots once he feels the time is right. Fitness-wise, hunger-wise and ability-wise, Kohli is still good, so does he continue on for the next few years?
Kohli's coach Rajkumar Sharma, who has nurtured and groomed the world-beater, made a shocking claim. His coach reckoned Kohli can go on playing for the next four years. Rajkumar reckoned Kohli's can play IPL beyond four years as well. So, will Kohli continue on and play the 2027 WC? Yes, if one has to believe Rajkumar, Kohli would be around.
‘He means business on the field as a batter’
“There is no stopping Kohli and time and again he has made it clear that he means business on the field as a batter,” Rajkumar was quoted as saying on CricBlogger.

With the IPL franchises allowing players to prolong their careers, one can safely say Kohli would not leave soon. Form-wise Kohli was a little off, but then, against arch-rivals Pakistan, he hit an unbeaten century to power India over the line. India won that game by six wickets to also secure their spot in the semi-final.

Kohli's SPECIAL 300
When India take on New Zealand in their final group-stage game in Dubai, there is lots to look forward to. Kohli would be playing his 300th ODI, which is a massive feat by itself. It is a dead-rubber as both sides have qualified, yet the result would ensure who plays who in the knockout. It would be interesting to see if India make changes to their winning XI.
