Yuvraj Singh displayed he hasn’t aged with the bat despite retirement after heroics against Australia Champions

Against Australia, the reigning champions, Yuvraj Singh gave an amazing effort scoring 58 off 29 balls. Renowned for his ability to score big against Australia, the venerable Indian all-rounder displayed yet again his genius.

The 42-year-old put an amazing performance in the second semi-final of the World Championship of Legends on July 12 at County Ground, Northampton, gathering 59 runs off just 28 balls. With four boundaries and five sixes in his blazing knock, Yuvraj helped the India Legends to score an astonishing 254/6 in their 20 overs.

Robin Uthappa established the pace with a blistering 65 off 35 balls. With an amazing 95-run partnership off only 35 balls, the Pathan brothers, Irfan and Yusuf, gave the ideal conclusion. With 51* off 23 balls, Yusuf stayed perfect; Irfan showed the team's batting strength by contributing a quickfire 50 off 19 balls.

Captain Yuvraj's history of ruling Australia in knockout events persisted beyond his retirement, hence solidifying his legacy in cricket.

Against Australia in pivotal games, Yuvraj Singh has a habit of providing match-winning efforts. In his first overseas innings, he hit 84 off 80 balls in the ICC Knockout Cup's quarter-final—now the Champions Trophy. Eliminating the apparently unbeatable Australian side, this pivotal innings helped India to achieve a 20-run triumph.

The star all-rounder delivered his finest T20I innings in the 2007 T20 World Cup's semi-final seven years later. India was spurred to a victory over the world champions by his explosive knock of 70 off 30 balls, therefore eliminating them from the tournament.

Yuvraj Singh once more displayed his mettle in the quarter-final against Australia at the 2011 ODI World Cup. Helping India chase down their target of 261 with 14 balls to spare, he hit an undefeated 57 from 65 balls, therefore ending Australia's 12-year World Cup supremacy. Yuvraj also helped with the ball; he took 2/44 and won Player of the Match for his all-around performance.

Given that India has now reached the final of the competition, they will be facing their arch-rivals Pakistan, rolling back the years on Saturday, July 13, 2024, at 9:30 PM IST. It is anticipated that captain, Yuvraj Singh will lead India to glory in the Legends match.
