The Shubman Gill-led Team India faced off against Zimbabwe At the Harare Sports Club just days after the Men in Blue lifted the coveted world Championship silverware. In that case, the team now has two stars above the crest. However, the team in Harare wore the kits which had just one star. The fans have been thinking about why did they not wear the updated jerseys. As it turns out, there was a timing issue over the entire situation.
The squad members of Team India for the Zimbabwe Tour left on Monday, while the Rohit Sharma-led side won the T20 World Cup final late at night on Saturday. Since there was only one day to make it happen, it was practically impossible for them to make fresh kits for the team travelling to Harare. The logistical issue led to the Shubman Gill-led side wearing the kits with the one star against Zimbabwe as they began the T20I series.
