R Ashwin Offers His Analogy on Rohit Sharma's Future in the Mumbai Indians

While speaking in one of his videos for his YouTube Channel, R Ashwin opens up on Rohit Sharma and his future with the Mumbai Indians. Despite the chatter that Rohit should move ahead of MI, the veteran spinner believes that the Team India skipper will be staying with the franchise. Ashwin cited that at such a stage, money isn't a big deal to players like him.

"Even if you think like Rohit, it's not wrong at all. I don't want any headache. I have been a captain for India. I have captained Mumbai many times. Even if I am not a captain, I am going to Mumbai happily. If I play for Mumbai, it's super. I am sure most players are like that. After a stage, money doesn't matter for some of those players. That's the thing," R Ashwin said.

The Mumbai Indians' decision to make Hardik Pandya the franchise skipper was ridiculed by the fans. The all-rounder's first year as the skipper did not work out as he faltered massively and they fell to the bottom of the points table. On the other hand, Rohit Sharma was able to make some effective contributions as he scored 417 runs, with a strike rate of 150 and an average of 32.07. He scored a ton and a half-century apiece.

Rohit Sharma is an undisputed legend of the Mumbai Indians franchise, as all of their title wins came under his captaincy. He may enjoy some downtime as a regular player at this stage. However, there are chances that he could look for new opportunities and take a chance by being a part of the auction. It is yet to be seen what happens next.
