Following their victory in the T20 World Cup 2024, Team India has finally returned home to India, having been stranded in Barbados for over a week due to Hurricane Beryl. The Men in Blue took a chartered aeroplane with Air India to return. The World Champions have a busy programme ahead of them, which includes a meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and a tour of Mumbai by open buses. The skipper is once again leading from the front as Team India has returned home.

Upon the Indian cricket team's arrival in Delhi, the official BCCI X handle posted a special video featuring the team's journey with the T20 World Cup trophy. The footage captures the players bringing the coveted trophy from Barbados to India on a chartered flight, with the likes of Virat Kohli, Jasprit Bumrah, Rohit Sharma, and others striking poses and clicking pictures with the trophy. The video vividly showcases the palpable excitement and joy of the players, offering fans an inside look at the triumphant and celebratory atmosphere surrounding their return with the prestigious trophy.
Team India touched down at Indira Gandhi International Airport in New Delhi on Thursday, July 4. The squad had a 16-hour journey from Barbados and landed early in the morning.
Many supporters had come at the airport to commemorate the team's victorious 2024 T20 World Cup campaign. The team will meet with Prime Minister Modi at 11 a.m. later.
In the exciting 2024 ICC Men's T20 World Cup final, India defeated South Africa with a tenacious showing on June 29, 2024. South Africa's spirits appeared to be raised by India captain Rohit Sharma's early exit, as the team set a target of 177. But Virat Kohli, ever the determined man, rose to the occasion, hitting a magnificent 76 off 59 balls. In reply, Heinrich Klaasen played a brave innings, but South Africa lost by 7 runs. India's victory was secured by Player of the Match Kohli's outstanding batting and Bumrah's potent bowling, completing a protracted wait for the esteemed championship.
