IND vs SL: Indian fast bowlers once again showed their impressive display

Indian pacers once again displayed their venomous firepower as they dismantled the Sri Lankan batting lineup on a batting-friendly Mumbai surface. Led by Mohammad Shami's brilliant five-for, Indian bowlers tore apart Sri Lanka as they forced SL to register their 4th lowest total in the history of the World Cup.

Jasprit Bumrah laid the path as he dismissed Pathum Nissanka and it was the start of a carnage. Shami was particularly brilliant as despite arriving late to the party, he once again proved why he is still regarded as the most destructive bowler. He took his second five-wicket haul of the tournament and has so far collected 14 wickets to his name.

Former Indian cricketer Virender Sehwag lavished praises on the fast bowler. He took to social media as he claimed Shami doesn't get the praise he deserves as a bowler. “Mohammed Shami, what a guy. A World Cup great, 45 wickets in 14 games is stunning. Our highest wicket-taker in World Cup cricket. Deserves so much more credit than he gets,” Sehwag said.

Batting has been India's strong forte traditionally but in this World Cup bowling has turned out to be in the driver's seat. From Bumrah to Shami to Kuldeep Yadav, everyone has executed their duties with sheer perfection and it is one of the reasons why Team India currently are topping the charts.
