India vs Australia: St Lucia Hourly weather report
India vs Australia Super 8, T20 World Cup 2024: What happens if rain causes a match abandonment? Are the Aussies doomed?
There is a major rain threat at the Daren Sammy Cricket Ground in Saint Lucia. As reported by Accuweather, overcast weather is predicted with the chances of rain and thunderstorms. During the match hours, the weather could be cloudy and there is a possibility of a delayed start if the area receives an intense downpour.
Team India and Australia could end up sharing a point apiece if the match at the Daren Sammy National Cricket Stadium in Gros Islet, St Lucia gets washed out because the International Cricket Council (ICC) does not provide a reserve day for Super Eight matches. India will automatically qualify for the T20 World Cup semifinals for the second consecutive year in the event of a no result.
However, it will only mean that Australia has three points from their three games. Their only chances of winning would be if Bangladesh wins over Afghanistan or if the Kingstown Super Eight game ends up without a result. Australia will thereafter be eligible due to their higher net run rate, even though they have the same points from all three matches.

While the rain doesn't have a major effect on Team India, Australia's fate is at stake as they need to pick a win against the Men in Blue to keep themselves on the title page. The Aussies' hopes are hanging in the balance, and it is yet to be seen on what happens next.
