Forced to bat first on a damp pitch and rain affected game, India had the most epic collapse as they lost 7 wickets inside 30 runs and only set Pakistan a target of 120 runs. Pakistan were cruising along in their chase but heroics by Jasprit Bumrah meant that India clawed their way back into the contest and ended up winning another World Cup match against Pakistan.  

The win was remarkable for India as it was the lowest total the men in blue has ever defended in a T20 World Cup match. Aside from that India’s dominance over Pakistan in the World Cups continued as they improved their record to 15-1 in world cups overall and their T20 World Cup record to 7-1. 

Jay Shah’s passionate reaction leaves everyone in splits 

As soon as Arshdeep Singh bowled the final delivery and sealed the victory for India, celebrations erupted among the Indian fans as they rejoiced their team’s heroics. The fever and the occasion got the better of BCCI secretary Jay Shah as well as he left his usual assured self behind and celebrated India’s win with passion.

In a video, Jay Shah was seen celebrating India’s win in the stadium in New York as he passionately punched in the air multiple times. He even urged the fans and gestured them to make even more noise to celebrate the victory. Jay Shah’s celebration caught everyone by surprise and left people in splits. 

The win puts India in a comfortable position at the top of Group A and massive favourites to qualify into the Super 8 of the tournament. India will face the host nation of USA next in New York and then jet to Florida to face Canada in their final group stage fixture.
