Following Afghanistan's sensational win over Australia in the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 Super 8 stage, Naveen-u-Haq went to Instagram to share a striking post.

Afghanistan made its presence felt in the Super 8s of the ICC T20 World Cup in the most sensational way. Australia, who have looked outright favorites for the grand prize and did not drop a sweat till now in the competition have faltered for the first time. Afghanistan left a humble pie for the Aussies. Batting first, Afghanistan posted a par total of 148 on board at the Arnos Vale Stadium. In reply, Australia bundled out at 127, losing the game by a striking margin of 21 runs.

Naveen-ul-Haq's Instagram post goes viral

Surreal scenes ensued following the end of the match as Afghanistan players celebrated with passion. Naveen-ul-Haq, who played a significant part in Afghanistan's victory seemingly showcased the outlook of before and after the game. Through a graphic, Naveen displayed the distinction of the support the Afghanistan team got before the match and the congratulations they are receiving now. He seemingly wanted to exhibit that only a few supported the Afghanistan team before the game but following their win those who did not believe in them have come out in big numbers to celebrate their win.

Afghanistan beat Australia by 21 runs

In the match, Afghanistan got a scintillating start as Rahmanullah Gurbaaz and Ibrahim Zadran crafted 118 runs for the opening wicket. Both batsmen completed their half-centuries but their dismissal wounded the batting lineup. In the last 4 overs, Afghanistan could only score 30 runs. For Australia, Pat Cummins struck a hat-trick once again. Chasing 149, Australia had a horrendous start. Opener Travis Head got dismissed in the first over. Captain Mitchell Marsh also could not get going. David Warner was completely out of sorts. Barring Glenn Maxwell, who just like ODI World Cup 2023, once again stood out against Afghanistan. He scored 59 but this time he could not take his side past the finish line. For Afghanistan, Gulbadin Naib emerged as the pick of the bowlers. He took four wickets in his quota of 4 overs and gave away just 20 runs. Courtesy of exceptional bowling performance, Afghanistan defeated Australia by 21 runs in T20 World Cup 2024.
