ODI World Cup 2023: Updated points table after England thrash Netherlands by 160 runs

England produced a great show in their penultimate game of the tournament, winning by a margin of 160 runs. Ben Stokes scored a brilliant century.

ENG vs NED: England on Wednesday defeated the Netherlands to register their second victory of the ongoing ODI World Cup 2023. The defending champions were at the bottom of the points table with just 2 points in seven games prior to playing against the Dutch. However, the Jos Buttler-led side produced a great show in their penultimate game of the tournament, winning by a margin of 160 runs. Ben Stokes scored a brilliant century and was named the player of the match.

In the 2023 ODI World Cup, India, South Africa, and Australia have already clinched places in the semi-finals. Meanwhile, Pakistan, New Zealand, and Afghanistan are competing for the last remaining spot in the knockout stage. These three teams are all tied with 8 points after playing an equal number of games. England, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, and the Netherlands have been eliminated and placed seventh, eighth, ninth, and tenth respectively on the points table.

ICC ODI World Cup 2023: New Zealand vs Sri Lanka

New Zealand will lock horns against Sri Lanka in their final group-stage match on Thursday. The match will take place at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. The play is slated to begin at 2:00 PM IST.
